Junior Program

The Bentleigh ANA Cricket Club has a very proud history and tradition, and as a foundation member of the CMCA (now SECA) celebrated its 85th anniversary in 2014/15.

To ensure we continue to remain a strong and successful club, ANA invests heavily in its junior development program. Our juniors are our future!

Over the years, some of our players have gone on to play at district and State level. One of our 'favourite sons', Mick Taylor, went on to play for Australia in the 'rebel' tour of South Africa in the 80's.

Our ethos is not only to help develop young players, who will go on to represent the club at senior level or higher, but also to teach them the importance of participating in a team sport environment. Team sport teaches character, teamwork, to compete, how to win & lose. It keeps kids active and most importantly, it is fun to play with your 'mates'.

It's these traits, as well as attitude, enthusiasm, loyalty and being part of the team on and off the field, which ANA strives for.

We are continuously growing as a club and are very lucky to have some dedicated people to help with our junior program.  However, we do encourage parents to volunteer wherever they can. Whether it's scoring on match day, helping with training or running a sausage sizzle! It's this participation and engagement that will help the club grow and be successful. All volunteers working within the junior club in any capacity must have a Working with Children Check.

Pathway

Talented young players have great opportunities to represent SECA or the Breakers which is part of Cricket Victoria's Pathway program.
